INVESTIGATION | 

The incident took place on Coast Road in Baldoyle, Dublin 13 at around 1am on Wednesday morning, July 17.

Michael ‘Mikey’ Farrelly (40) was walking home when he was struck by a stolen car in Baldoyle, Dublin in July.

Gardaí have arrested a man in his late teens over a fatal crash that killed a pedestrian in north Dublin back in July.

The incident took place on Coast Road in Baldoyle, Dublin 13, at around 1am on Wednesday morning, July 17.

The victim, 40-year-old pedestrian Michael ‘Mikey’ Farrelly, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood Mr Farrelly was walking to his home when he was struck by a stolen car.

Gardaí today announced that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the collision.

“The man (aged in his late teens) is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a garda station in Dublin,” a spokesperson said.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
