Dublin recorded one of the lowest temperature across the country overnight.
The latest data shows Casement Aerodrome had a low of minus 5.9 degrees as Met Éireann warns of extremely cold conditions and widespread severe frost today.
In Mullingar temperatures fell to minus 6.1 degrees.

The capital is currently under a yellow low temperature and ice warning but that will switch to a more serious orange alert from 6pm this evening.
Dangerous travelling conditions are being reported in many parts of the country this morning. Some schools are shut while others are opening later than usual.
Transport services are also facing disruption while thousands in Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary are facing their fourth day without power.
