AER LINGUS has announced they will start flying to Las Vegas later this year – and there’s one spot Irish tourists will need to visit.
While many will want to head to the Grand Canyon, take a trip to the slot machines or see an extravagant performance – it’s not a real holiday unless there’s the inevitable pit stop at an Irish bar.
You either love heading to one, or absolutely despise it but either way – we all somehow end up in one, so why not the best?
Launching the highly anticipated flights from Dublin, Aer Lingus will begin travelling to Las Vegas during the October midterm break.
Commencing on Friday, October 25, the Irish public will be able to fly directly to the sport and entertainment capital of the world.
You’ll be able to immerse yourself in entertainment, sports, and the natural wonders of the desert surroundings all while soaking up the sun.
Flights are set to operate three times per week from Dublin, on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Flights here will be taken on a widebody Airbus A330-300 up until April 29, 2025.
If you’re planning on booking a flight here, Nine Fine Irishmen is deemed as the best Irish bar the city has to offer.
Located in the heart of the city on Las Vegas Blvd, this bar is one of the most authentic in the city.
While Las Vegas is full of exciting theatre shows and over the top sporting events, this pub gives you a quiet vibe in the midst of chaos.
The bar itself has a full food menu which offers authentic Irish dishes, as well as an array of Irish stouts and ales.
It offers Irish staples such as sausage rolls, shepard’s pie, bangers and mash and even a classic old pork chop.
On their drinks menu, the bar has Irish favourites on tap such as Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks, Bulmers and Kilkenny.
And anyone familiar with US drink measures will be happy to know that all their draft pints are 20oz, rather than the typical 16oz most bars serve.
The only downfall to the menu is the prices, with all draft beers setting you back $13.
There is also live music and entertainment in the venue throughout the week.
The pub itself is located within the New York New York hotel and casino and is impressive in its own right.
And if you’re in the mood for a sweet treat after your time there, the Hershey’s Chocolate Bar is right beside it.
The pub was originally built in Ireland but shipped to its new home in Las Vegas.
The bar is named after nine Irish nationalists, Thomas Francis Meagher, John Mitchel, Patrick O’Donoghue, Terence Bellew McManus, William O’Brien, Charles Gavan Duffy, John Dillon, Thomas D’Arcy McGee, and Richard O’Gorman.
The nine men fought for Irish independence in 1848 and were later sentenced to death.
Instead they were excommunicated to Tasmania as prisoners.
As Meagher, Mitchel, O’Donoghue, McManus, and O’Brien were forcefully sent there while Duffy voluntarily went. Dillon, McGee and O’Gorman managed to escape to the US.
