Born to Irish parents in London, James Brown has always loved Ireland. He talks about his 30-year friendship with Kate Moss, being the youngest-ever hairstylist to work on a Vogue cover shoot and his mission to put Irish talent on the map
As a celebrity hairstylist and art director, James Brown is known for his work with models, musicians and the fashion elite. Today, however, he’s knee-deep in a decidedly unglamorous job.
“I was just covered in crap,” he says, by way of greeting, before describing an earlier impasse with a high-spirited hen. “Last week, I was in Paris with the fashion lot and the next thing I’m chasing my hen around the pen,” he adds, chatting by phone from his Loughrea farm.
