Dublin Bay North (5 seats)

Cian O’Callaghan (Soc Dems); Denise Mitchell (SF); Tom Brabazon (FF); Naoise Ó’Muirí (FG): Barry Heneghan (Ind)

Social Democrats Deputy Leader Cian O’Callaghan was first across the line in this five-seater. But the real surprise was a late surge from Independent candidate Barry Heneghan who pipped FF’s Deirdre Heney thanks to lots of transfers.

Dublin Bay South (4 seats)

James Geoghegan (FG); Ivana Bacik (Lab); Jim O’Callaghan (FF); Eoin Hayes (SocDems)

Some heavy-hitters on the ballot paper here, but Dublin Bay South showed the trend of the election. Green Party candidate Hazel Chu couldn’t hold former leader Eamon Ryan’s seat, while the Social Democrats gained thanks to Eoin Hayes.

Dublin Central (4 seats)

Mary Lou McDonald (SF); Paschal Donohoe (FG); Gary Gannon (SocDems); Marie Sherlock (Lab)

All eyes were on Dublin Central where, for a long time, it looked like Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch would secure the final seat. In the end, the more transfer-friendly Marie Sherlock pipped him to the post.

Dublin Fingal East (3 seats)

Darragh O’Brien (FF); Ann Graves (SF); Duncan Smith (Lab)

No housing hangover for Minister Darragh O’Brien as he is easily returned by the people of Fingal East. Sinn Féin and Labour fill the final two seats at the expense of Fine Gael’s Alan Farrell.

Dublin Fingal West (3 seats)

Louise O’Reilly (SF): Robert O’Donoghue (Lab); Grace Boland (FG)

A win here for Fine Gael as first-time Dáil candidate Grace Boland took the final seat ahead of Fianna Fail’s Lorraine Clifford-Lee.

Dublin Mid-West (5 seats)

Eoin O Broin (SF); Mark Ward (SF): Emer Higgins (FG); Shane Moynihan (FF); Paul Gogarty (Ind)

The constituency with two Eoin O Broins only returned one to the Dáil as transfers helped former Green Party TD Paul Gogarty, now running as an Independent, over the line.

Dublin North-West (3 seats)

Rory Hearne (SocDems); Dessie Ellis (SF); Paul McAuliffe (FF)

First-timer Rory Hearne holds Roisin Shorthall’s ‘safe’ seat for the Soc Dems. Elsewhere, the transfer love-in between Fianna Fail and Fine Gael helped Paul McAuliffe over the line ahead of Sinn Fein’s Cathleen Carney Boud.

Dublin Rathdown (4 seats)

Neale Richmond (FG): Maeve O’Connell (FG); Shay Brennan (FF): Sinead Gibney (SocDems)

Another win for the Social Democrats here amid the Green collapse, as Sinead Gibney takes the final seat while Minister Catherine Martin loses out.

Dublin South-Central (4 seats)

Aengus Ó Snodaigh (SF); Catherine Ardagh (FF); Máire Devine (SF); Jen Cummins (SocDems)

Two seats for Sinn Fein here amid the loss of Joan Collins, the leader and only TD for the Right To Change party, who has been a TD here since 2011.

Dublin South-West (5 seats)

Seán Crowe (SF): Colm Brophy (FG); John Lahart (FF); Ciarán Ahern (Lab); Paul Murphy (PBP)

Little drama here with an even share of the vote and Paul Murphy of People Before Profit taking the final seat

Dublin West (5 seats)

Jack Chambers (FF); Paul Donnelly (SF): Emer Currie (FG); Ruth Coppinger (PBP); Roderic O’Gorman (Green)

Lots of sub-plots here with Emer Currie holding former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s seat and the return of Ruth Coppinger. But the big story was the Greens avoiding total annihilation with leader Roderic O’Gorman holding off Aontú first-timer Ellen Troy.

Dún Laoghaire (4 seats)

Jennifer Caroll MacNeill (FG); Cormac Devlin (FF); Barry Ward (FG); Richard Boyd Barrett (PBP)

One of three Dublin constituencies not to return a Sinn Féin TD, as the Greens were again the big losers, saying farewell to former minister Ossian Smyth
