The band took to X to announce their 2025 tour after they sold out dates in November this year.
“#TheScriptFamily! We’re beyond excited to announce we’re adding more tour dates for 2025. Next summer is going to be epic and we can’t wait to see you all on the road,” the post read.
The Limerick date will take place on Saturday, July 12, subject to licence. It will be the band’s only show in Ireland next year.
James Bay will also perform as the band’s special guest on the night.
A spokesperson for promoters MCD said: “Today’s announcement will surely come as fantastic news for fans who were unable to secure a ticket for the band’s five sold-out upcoming November 2024 arena shows in Belfast and Dublin.”
Tickets for Thomond Park go on sale this Saturday, September 28 at 10am on Ticketmaster.
Earlier this year, Danny O’Donoghue, the band’s vocalist shared how he’d suffered depression after the death of bandmate, Mark Sheehan, in 2023.
The lead guitarist was only 46 when he passed away following a brief illness.
O’Donoghue told Magic Radio Breakfast hosts Ronan Keating and Harriet Scott: “So, now we’re a four-piece and the album itself, I guess what you hear is somebody coming out of that depression.
“I still feel like I’m in the middle of it, so I still feel like I’m writing it as it’s happening, so, you know, there’s a tribute to Mark on there.”
The 43-year-old singer from Ballinteer, south Dublin, admitted he’d not been able to pick up a pen for some time after his friend’s death.
“I couldn’t articulate, I couldn’t write anything for literally seven to eight months. You know, I started hitting the drink pretty hard and just really went off the rails,” he said.
“Then it would have been around Christmas time I’d had my fill of Guinness you know… So I got back home to my house where I live in London and I just went: ‘That’s it, finished. I’m finished drinking, I’m finished feeling sorry for myself. It’s not what he would have wanted.”
MCD said the band have enjoyed 10 billion streams, 12 million album sales, six UK number one albums and two Platinum-certified U.S singles.
The Script returned with the released their acclaimed new album Satellites last August.
This year the band toured with P!nk across the UK, Europe and America, before returning to big stages of their own this autumn.
They will have played to two million fans globally by the end of this year.
The band play Dublin’s 3Arena between November 14 and 16 but all three dates are sold out.
The Thomand Park concert in 2025 is priced from €59.85 to €75.25 (subject to service charge), according to MCD.
