From flea markets in Portobello, to a charity club night on Middle Abbey Street, there is plenty to be doing in Dublin this weekend.

Kumar Klub

Kick off the weekend a little early this Thursday, 19 September, with a charity club night in aid of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre and We-Consent. Taking place in WigWam from 7pm-11pm, the night will feature incredible B2B DJ sets from Alice Ugbah B2B Big Cheeks, Derv B2B Rhyzine, Sally Cinnamon B2B Mango and Surka B2B Sahana. There will also be a raffle and will be hosted by the amazing Kevin and PJ of I’m Grand Mam. Tickets €15. Event is for over 20s only.

Culture Night

This year Culture Night takes place on Friday, 20 September, with a myriad of events happening across the country. As well as street art, story-telling, live theatre, and guided walks, there will be some mouth-watering food events set to take place in Irish cities, towns and countryside areas nationwide.

A street party on Moore Street featuring Nigerian street food, Brazilian churros, Romanian BBQ, Asian dumplings, Polish honey and flatbread, as well as Indian leather goods, Turkish perfumes, Ecuadorian jewellery, Peruvian trinkets, and more.

On Saturday, 21 September, running from 11am-5pm, the Useless Project will bring a beautiful thrifty flea market to the Portobello Community Hall (formerly St Kevin’s community Centre for Google maps). There will be over 40 incredible stalls showcasing everything from fashion and homeware to art, ceramics, and jewellery.

Taking place on the IMMA campus from 20 – 22 September, EARTH RISING is a flagship festival focused on the Earth crisis. Celebrating art and culture as catalysts for environmental change and collective action, this festival includes free exhibitions, workshops, talks, performances, screenings and more.

Programme highlights include an installation and talk by Sakiya, a progressive academy for experimental knowledge production and sharing around local farming in Ramallah, Palestine; a climate comedy workshop; speed dating to find your ‘Soil Mate’ to connect garden owners with gardenless growers.
