We have just seen the back of Halloween, but despite it only being November, there is a lasered-in focus on Christmas, with retailers already attempting to lure in clientele.
Dundrum Town Centre is on festive manoeuvres and is using a game plan that proved effective last year.
It is holding the second event of its kind christened Giftmas Day. No hyperbole is spared as it is described as “the biggest shopping event of the year”, taking place Thursday, November 7, from 9am to 10pm.
There are offers from leading retailers in the centre, with up to 20 per cent off, covering a large range to provide punters with a chance to get those all-important gifts early. There are also pop-ups to broaden the options for shoppers.
There is also added entertainment for shoppers that take advantage of Giftmas, with musical entertainment to enhance the experience.
The New Brass Kings and Mariachi San Patricio are the musical talent on show to make people bop as they shop.
Don Nugent, Senior General Manager at Dundrum Town Centre, said: “We’re incredibly excited about Giftmas Day this year. Our retailers have curated an amazing selection of offers exclusively for this special event.
“Giftmas Day is a key date on our calendar, and we’re proud to host this unique experience for our loyal customers.”
Even better news is that all this consumerism will be able to benefit a good cause. This year, Dundrum Town Centre will partner with the charity Children in Hospital Ireland for their second annual ‘Giving Tree’. Children in Hospital Ireland aims to provide a positive hospital experience for children and families all year round, but especially during the festive period.
The Giving Tree will allow visitors to donate or buy a gift for a child or family residing in a hospital this Christmas and ultimately spread some Christmas cheer.
Giftmas Day could be seen as marking the official start of the festive season, in terms of shopping, so why not enjoy your Christmas gift-buying this year and minimise the stress by getting it done early and at decent prices. Unfortunately, it’s one day only!
