Traffic and travel: Crash on M50, black ice warnings and train delays at Connolly Station

Just before 8am there was a collision on M50.

It occurred between Junction 5 Finglas and Junction 6 Blanchardstown (Southbound).

Traffic is moving slowly.

Another crash occurred around 8.15am on the M50 at Junction 12, Firhouse (Northbound).

A third crash happened on the M50 between Junction 3 – M1/M50 and Junction 2- Santry (Southbound) at 8.30am.

The left lane is currently impacted.

Slip R113/R133 to M50 North traffic is moving slowly also.

Meanwhile, delays of up to 10 minutes can be expected through Connolly due to operational issues.

The 7.24am Greystones/Howth is operating at reduced capacity due to a technical issue.

The TII Motorway Operations Control Centre also issued a warning this morning.

They said: “Stay safe, stay slow. Black ice can appear anywhere when temperatures drop. Full attention on the road can prevent a fatal mistake.”
