THE M50 motorway in Dublin is experiencing some delays this morning after two cars breakdown on busy commuter route.
Motorists are being warned to expect delays this morning on both southbound and northbound routes.
Commuters are being warned to ‘reduce your speed’ when approaching both breakdown areas.
The first has occurred on the northbound side between J13 Dundrum and J12 Firhouse.
Bosses said: “When approaching the breakdown location, reduce your speed and drive with caution.
“Minor delays to your journey may occur.”
The second has also occurred on the northbound side between J6 M50/N3 and J5 M50/N2.
This again could cause delays for drivers.
There is congestion continuing down the southbound routes, with drivers warned: “Some delays to your journey may occur.
“When approaching the congestion location, reduce your speed and drive with caution.”
There are also minor delays for those travelling to the capital by train this morning.
Trains into Connolly Station are running up to 25 minutes behind schedule, with some operating with a reduced capacity.
Irish Rail said: “The 06:38 Connolly/Maynooth service is expected to depart shortly. This service is expected to depart approximately 13 minutes behind schedule.
“The 06:50 Connolly/Belfast service will be delayed departing this morning due to a mechanical issue onboard.
“The 06:50 Connolly/Belfast service has departed approximately 17 minutes behind schedule this morning.
“The 07:05 Connolly/Maynooth service will be delayed departing Connolly station this morning due to an operational issue. It is expected to depart approximately 25 minutes behind schedule.
“The 07:54 Maynooth/Bray service will be delayed departing this morning, will operate with reduced capacity and will terminate in Connolly station.”
There has also been a major warning issued for drivers overnight as Dublin’s Port Tunnel is planned to be closed.
Taking to X, they said: “The Dublin Tunnel will be closed tonight, Wednesday. Drive with care!”
The tunnel will be shut from 9.30pm until 4.30am tomorrow morning.
