THE M50 motorway is experiencing delays this morning after two collisions took place on the busy road – including one multi-vehicle crash.
Motorists are being warned to expect delays as gardai and emergency services have rushed to the scenes of the two major crashes on the Dublin ring road.
Emergency services are currently at the scene of a crash northbound between J6 Blanch and J5 in Finglas.
The collision is blocking the right and middle lanes.
A separate multi-car crash, which is also northbound between the J9 Red Cow and J7 in Lucan, is blocking the right and middle lanes.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland warned drivers to expect delays and follow the instructions of emergency services who have rushed to the scene as lane one is currently affected.
TII said: “Multi-vehicle collision between J9 Red Cow and J7 M50/N4. Lane one affected.
“Some delays to your journey may occur.
“When approaching the collision location drive with caution, reduce your speed and please obey instructions from emergency services.”
AA Roadwatch have warned that severe delays of 26 minutes on the M50 northbound are being recorded.
They wrote: “Severe delays of 26 minutes on M50 northbound between 11 N81 and 6 R147 Navan Road.
“Average speed 15 kph.”
Separately, a young cyclist is in “serious” condition in hospital after a horror crash between a car and e-bike in Dublin.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the serious road collision that took place on the N11 in Cabinteely yesterday evening.
Gardai and Emergency services raced to the scene of the collision involving a car and e-bike on the N11 at the junction with Johnstown Road shortly before 5pm.
The cyclist, a man in his 20s, was seriously injured in the crash.
CRASH APPEAL
He was rushed by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin where his condition is understood to be serious.
The scene is being preserved for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and traffic diversions are in place.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
In particular, investigators are looking to speak to any road users who may have camera footage or who were travelling in the area at the time of the incident.
A spokesperson said: “Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the N11 in Cabinteely on Thursday, 14th November 2024.
