MOTORISTS and commuters are being warned of severe delays on the roads this morning after several crashes caused lanes to close.
Commuters are also seeing huge disruptions on a number of public transport services, as well as an M50 bus breakdown.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland warned there are major delays on Dublin’s M50 this morning following a bus breakdown which has seen one lane close.
They are also warning motorists in Cork and Dublin of delays following a multi-vehicle collision.
This occurred between Junction 9 Ringaskiddy and Junction 8 Douglas.
TII said that delays to your journey will occur and road users should consider a different route.
They urged drivers to approach the location with caution and reduce speed, as well as obey instructions from emergency services.
There have been reports of a collision inbound on Dorset Street, Dublin 1 this morning with both the middle and left lanes blocked, Dublin City Council said.
The N71 also remains closed due to an earlier collision at Faxbridge Roundabout, Clonakilty.
A separate incident on the M4/N4 westbound involving a bus breakdown is causing further delays.
Lane one is closed between junction 1 M50/N4 and junction 2 Liffey Valley.
TII said: “When approaching the breakdown location, drive with caution and reduce your speed.
“Some delays to your journey may occur.”
The M50 remains congested this morning along both north and southbound routes.
A separate breakdown on the M7 in Naas, Co Kildare is also causing issues this morning.
This breakdown involved a car or motorbike and occurred between junction 9a Sallins and junction 9 Naas, with lanes two and three impacted.
TII said: “When approaching the breakdown location, drive with caution and reduce your speed. Some delays to your journey may occur.”
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Bus Eireann have seen a number of service disruptions this morning, impacting commuters in various areas.
Customers are being reminded that due to roadworks on Marquee Road, the 212 will be diverted through Monahan Road from 9am until 4pm.
As well as this, the 40 service at 10am from Waterford to Cork has been cancelled along with the 1.40pm service from Cork to Waterford.
The 105 from Kilmoon Cross to Connolly Hospital at 7.52am has also been cancelled, along with the 8.50am Blanchardstown Hospital to Emerald Park route.
The NX routes from Dublin to Navan at 7.04am has been cancelled, with the 8.40am Navan to Dublin service also cancelled.
The N1/N2 is operating at a reduced frequency, as is the D1/D2/D4/D5.
Irish Rail has issued a warning to commuters that services are running up to 15 minutes late on some tracks.
There are delays of up to 15 minutes through Newbridge due to a points issue.
The 7.20am service from Dublin Heuston to Waterford is running 20 minutes late, with the Heuston to Galway services running 13 minutes behind.
