Two men have been arrested and a shotgun seized by armed gardai who responded to reports of shots being fired in Dublin 8 this morning.
Multiple armed units, including the ASU and local detective units, rushed to the scene in the Vincent Street South area at approximately 11.30am.
In a follow-up operation, a shotgun was recovered and two men arrested after gardaí conducted searches of several residential properties.
“Gardaí at Kevin Street have arrested two individuals and recovered a firearm following an incident in Dublin 8 on Saturday, October 26,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“The two males, aged in their 20s and 30s, are currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda station in the Dublin region.
“Investigations are ongoing and further updates will follow.”
