USA vs IRE: Is There A Reserve Day In Place (Source: AP)

The Florida weather could hamper Pakistan’s chances of qualifying for the Super 8s as the USA take on Ireland in a crucial game of the T20 World Cup. The game stands of utmost significance, not just for the USA but for Pakistan as well. The Babar Azam-led side need the USA to suffer a defeat against Ireland. This will keep the USA on four points and if Pakistan can beat Ireland in their final game, they will go through the Super 8s. However, there is heavy rain predicted in Florida during the game.

A state of emergency has been declared in Florida due to persistent rains and the forecast for the USA vs IRE match looks bleak. As per Accuweather, there is over a 50 percent chance of rain during the game. If the forecast comes true, Pakistan will have to return home empty hands, with a group-stage elimination against their name.

Is There A Reserve Day For the USA vs IRE match?

Unfortunately for Pakistan, there is no reserve day for the match. The reserve days have been allotted to semifinals and final but there are no reserve days for group matches. Pakistan thus will once again look up to ‘Qudrat Ka Nizam’ to save them from an embarrassing exit. The team, however, have themselves to blame for their misery. Pakistan could have won both games against the USA and India but let the games slip out of their hands. They failed to defend 15 runs in the final over against the USA and could not chase 40 in 35 balls with six wickets in hand against India.

If Pakistan get knocked out from the group stage, this will be the second consecutive tournament where the team underperformed. Pakistan also endured a poor outing in the ODI World Cup 2023 and failed to reach the semifinals.
