There have also been reports of a crash at Doyle’s Corner as you turn left from Phibsboro Road onto the North Circular Road inbound, traffic in both lanes are affected. Meanwhile, An Garda Síochána, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) and councils across the country are advising motorists to stay at home if possible due to the second status Orange warning for weather which kicked in at 8pm yesterday evening.

This warning includes Leinster, Munster and Connacht, as well as Cavan and Monaghan. The RSA is asking motorists to treat every road as “treacherous” due to the extremely low temperatures. Frost and ice on the roads, as well as snow and fog, combine to make driving perilous. “Make only essential journeys, take it slowly and allow extra time for travel to reduce risks for all and to relieve the pressure on the emergency services,” it said.
