Comedian Vir Das has announced the postponement of his much-anticipated Dublin show due to unforeseen visa complications. Das, who was scheduled to perform in Dublin on October 7 as part of his “Mind Fool Tour,” shared the news with his fans via X (formerly Twitter), expressing his disappointment over the delay.
Currently in Sweden for a show in Stockholm on September 30, the Emmy Award-winning comedian explained that his request for a double-entry Schengen visa was denied by the Swedish Embassy. Instead, he was issued a single-entry visa, limiting his ability to leave Sweden and re-enter the Schengen zone for his upcoming performances.
In addition to his visa troubles, Das revealed that the Swedish Embassy had also rejected the visa application for his tour assistant. The rejection was based on concerns that his assistant might not return to India after the tour, adding another layer of complexity to their travel logistics.
Applied for a double entry Schengen. The Swedish embassy in their infinite wisdom give me a single entry one and reject my tour assistant saying they don’t believe he’s going to return to India 🤷♂️ now I have to push a Dublin show because I can’t leave Schengen. What a week!

A Schengen visa allows short-term travel across 26 European countries, including popular destinations like France, Spain, and Switzerland. However, the single-entry condition in Das’s case has created logistical challenges, forcing him to reschedule his Dublin show. The new date for the performance is yet to be announced.
