Coldplay, who are playing four dates at Croke Park starting from Thursday, have sold out the 82,000 capacity stadium. The concerts are part of record-breaking Music of the Spheres World Tour that has sold more than 10 million tickets, making it the most attended music tour in history.
Martin, who was once married to Gwyneth Paltrow, did try to speak to the crowd but sound issues meant he could not be heard.
Earlier on Wednesday, he had shared a video of himself chatting with a busker on the pier in the suburban coastal town of Dún Laoghaire.
We Pray, which was co-written by rapper Jay-Z, is from Coldplay’s forthcoming album Moon Music.
