Rashid Khan hitting no-look six against McCarthy (X.com)
In a recent training video, CSK’s immortal man, MS Dhoni, pulled off a no-look six that went viral in no time.
Rashid Khan produced a similar show on Sunday during Afghanistan’s do-or-die T20I match against Ireland, and it was Barry McCarthy who was at the receiving end at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Coming to bat at No. 9, Afghanistan’s skipper Rashid played a breezy cameo (25 off 12), which later played a pivotal role in their 10-run win in the second T20I. The highlight of his knock was the way he held his pose after the no-look six during the 18th over of Afghanistan’s innings.
The Irish right-arm quick bowled a low full-toss on middle and leg stump, and Rashid kept his composure and stood tall before nonchalantly sending it over deep backward square leg for a six. Crowds were pumped, and so were the fans of the Indian Premier League (IPL), who are eagerly awaiting to see him in the upcoming edition in Gujarat Titans’ colours.

After missing out on a few months for both club and country, Rashid made a spectacular return in the series opener, albeit it all went in vain. The series decider will take place at the same venue later on Monday (March 18), after which Rashid will travel to India for IPL 2024 commitments.
