The Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli has finally joined Team India after a long wait, reuniting with Rohit Sharma and the squad for his first practice session ahead of their match against Ireland in the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 5.
Kohli wasn’t part of the initial group of players that traveled to the United States due to his participation in the IPL 2024 playoffs. After his team crashed out in the eliminator stage, he took a brief break, delaying his flight by a few days.

During this time, Kohli missed India’s warm-up match against Bangladesh and nearly all practice sessions that the team engaged in.
The 35-year-old batter joined Team India’s practice session to gear up for the exciting clash against the Irish team. In the video, Virat Kohli is seen along with Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma and other players in New York.

Despite these absences, Kohli’s readiness for the T20 World Cup is not in question. The Orange Cap winner had a phenomenal IPL 2024 season, amassing 741 runs in 15 games. His current form indicates he is well-prepared for the tournament.
Adding to his accolades, Kohli remains the highest run-scorer in the history of the T20 World Cup, with 1,141 runs in 27 matches since his debut in 2012.
