Weather warning issued as Met Éireann gives Storm Darragh update

Met Éireann has given an update on Storm Darragh.

The forecaster has issued a Status Yellow Wind warning for the whole country.

It’s valid from 3pm Friday to 3pm Saturday as Storm Darragh brings “strong and gusty” south to southwest winds.

The winds are set to veer northwest on Friday night.

Met Éireann is warning of potential impacts including fallen trees, loose debris and difficult travelling conditions. 

A Status Yellow Rain warning has also been issued for Clare, Connacht, Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan, Longford, Louth, Meath and Westmeath. 

Storm Darragh will bring heavy rain on Friday followed by heavy showers Saturday morning.

The warning is valid from 10am Friday to 10am Saturday. 

Localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions are expected during this time.
