While musicians from across the country came to Wexford in search of All-Ireland success this year at least two of those prestigious trophies will be staying right here in the Model County. Long regarded as one of Wexford’s premier Comhaltas organisations, Bannow CCÉ once more did the county proud with All-Ireland wins in the U12 lilting and the senior mandolin.

While Lainey Rossiter celebrated his lilting victory in a manner befitting a young, up-and-coming musician, 19-year-old Cillian Cullen used his trophy in a fashion as old as time itself. However, before he could fill the cup with a beverage of his choice, he faced the toughest of challenges at the Presentation College on Sunday morning last.
