With over 160 registered players the Clonard Volunteers Ladies Gaelic Football Club is one of the biggest in Wexford. In addition it is the only standalone female Gaelic football club in the county. So it was fitting that its celebrations to mark 50 years of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) saw a huge turn out of players, members, and their families and friends.
Held at the St. John Volunteers pitch in Pairc Charman, the event was officially opened by Mayor of Wexford Councillor George Lawlor after an introduction from club chairperson Wendy Walsh. Also in attendance was Cllr Leonard Kelly and members of the St. John Volunteer Mothers & Others team.
