Bexley’s Bowles, Columbus Academy doubles team win Division II

Bexley junior and two-time defending state singles champion Amiya Bowles rolled to 12-0 this season and 52-0 in her high school career with a third straight district title, but unlike her previous 11 wins this year, it was not a shutout.

Bowles defeated Columbus School for Girls sophomore Iva Karagirova 6-2, 6-0 in the final.

Karagirova will be making her first state appearance.

In Division II, only the district champion and runner-up qualify for state.
