A woman in her 80s has died after the car she was driving struck a number of parked vehicles in Co Dublin.

The woman was only person in the car when the crash happened at Hillside Drive in Rathfarnham around 10.30am.

A man who was in one of the parked vehicles has been taking to hospital for treatment on non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí said the road is currently closed and a technical examination of the scene is under way.

A post-mortem examination on the body of the woman is also due to take place.

Anyone with camera footage from the area at the time of the collision is asked to make it available to gardaí.
