Gardai have seized €180,000 worth of drugs, including heroin, following raids on a property in Dublin.

A woman has been arrest following the search operation in Finglas which took place as part of Operation Tara and she is due before court later this morning.

Gardai said the raid was carried out as part of “ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of drugs and related crime in the Dublin Metropolitan Region”.

During the operation, a search warrant was executed at home in Finglas, Dublin 11.

Gardai say around €71,800 heroin, €22,800 alprazolam and €5,600 cocaine was seized, pending analysis.

In follow-up searches, €79,400 alprazolam tablets were seized.

“A female in her 30s was arrested at the scene and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. She has since been charged and is expected to appear before Blanchardstown District Court this morning, 19th September 2024,” a garda spokesperson said.

The seized drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

Gardai said the seizure took place as part of Operation Tara.

“The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle, and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels—international, national, and local—involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale, and supply of controlled drugs.”

Gardai added that the investigation is ongoing
