It happened in Dun Laoghaire this afternoon.

A woman has been hospitalised with serious injuries after being mauled by two dogs on the southside.

At around 1pm today, emergency services rushed to the scene – including the Armed Support Unit.

A woman was found at an apartment in Dun Laoghaire – with what’s described as “serious injuries”.

She’s being treated at St. Vincent’s.

Gardaí say they’ve launched an investigation and the dogs have been seized.

A spokesperson said:

“Gardaí were alerted by emergency services to an incident at a residence in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin this afternoon, Thursday 5th September 2024.

“A woman was attacked by a number of dogs.

“She has been taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital for treatment of her injuries, which are understood to be serious.

“The dogs are currently in the custody of the Dog Warden.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

Concerns have been raised about the number of dog attacks lately – including one fatal incident in Limerick, back in June.
