The World University Championship begins today at Ruuhikoski Golf Club in Finland with Barry Fennelly leading out a team of five Irish players.

Recent Palmer Cup competitor Ryan Griffin (Ballybofey & Stranorlar) will be joined by fellow Maynooth University stars, David Kitt (Athenry) and Simon Walker (Roscommon).

Ulster University are also represented with Kate Dwyer (Rossmore) and Ellen O’Gorman (Laytown & Bettystown) in action too in Finland this week.

The golf gets underway this morning and finishes on Friday with O’Gorman first up for Ireland, she tees off at 8.31am.
