We’re facing challenging conditions over the coming days.

A status yellow low temperature warning has been issued for the country for tomorrow night.

It will start at 8pm on Tuesday, and run until 10am on Wednesday.

Met Eireann is warning it will be very cold with widespread frost and ice.

Meteorologist with Met Eireann Aoife Kealy gives an outlook for the coming days.

“For the rest of the week, it is going to stay very cold; daytime temperatures will struggle to get above five degrees or so for most and nighttime temperatures will widely fall below freezing,” she said.

“So that means that frost and some icy patches will develop; there will be some wintry showers too, so showers of rain, hail, sleet and snow all possible through the week,” she added.
