Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a child was allegedly assaulted in north Dublin.

An appeal for information has been made following the incident at a bus stop in Ballymun.

A man is alleged to have attacked a young boy on the Ballymun Road at around 9.50pm last Friday night, the 27th of December.

Footage shared on social media over the weekend appeared to show a man striking the child.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is being asked to come forward, particularly those who were in the vicinity at the time or with direct knowledge of what happened.
