All-Ireland SFC semi-final

Armagh v Kerry, Croke Park, 5.30 – RTÉ 2/BBC 2

Kieran McGeeney has opted to hold Stefan Campbell, who kicked two points after being introduced at half-time against Roscommon, in reserve and hope is that a defence that has kept six clean sheets in seven championship matches can ensure a tight finish. Jack O’Connor has named the same team for a third game in a row. This would seem like as good a time as any for David Clifford to make his presence more robustly felt in this championship.

ARMAGH: B Hughes; P Burns, A McKay, P McGrane; B McCambridge, T Kelly, A Forker; N Grimley, B Crealey; O Conaty, R O’Neill, J McElroy; R Grugan, A Murnin, C Turbitt.

KERRY: S Ryan; P Murphy, J Foley, T O’Sullivan; B Ó Beaglaoich, T Morley, G White; D O’Connor, J O’Connor; T Brosnan, P Clifford, D Moynihan; D Clifford, S O’Shea, P Geaney. Verdict: Kerry

Tailteann Cup final

Down v Laois, Croke Park, 3.0 – RTÉ 2

Having only narrowly missed out on an All-Ireland SFC spot via league placing and then an Ulster final place, Down have done well to maintain consistency and should wrap up a spot in next year’s Sam Maguire Cup this afternoon.

DOWN: J O’Hare; P Fegen; R McEvoy, P Laverty; M Rooney, D Guinness, S Johnston; J Flynn, O Murdock; D Magill, J Guinness, R Johnston; L Kerr, P Havern, C McCrickard.

LAOIS: K Roche; J Kelly, S Fingleton, M Timmons; S Lacey, B Byrne, E Buggie; D Larkin, C Heffernan; N Dunne, E O’Carroll, K Swayne; M Barry, E Lowry, P Kingston. Verdict: Down

SUNDAY

All-Ireland SFC semi-final

Donegal v Galway, Croke Park, 4.0 – RTÉ 2/BBC 2

All eyes on the Galway warm-up. Shane Walsh didn’t look in good shape when he came off against Dublin but has been named to start again. It would seem implausible that Seán Kelly gets anywhere near 70 minutes either. Jeaic MacCeallabhuí comes into the Donegal team in place of the luckless Conor O’Donnell.

DONEGAL: S Patton; C Moore, B McCole, E Gallagher; R McHugh, C McGonagle, P Mogan; C Thompson, M Langan; J MacCeallabhuí, S O’Donnell, D Ó Baoill; P McBrearty, O Gallen, N O’Donnell.

GALWAY: C Gleeson; J McGrath, S Fitzgerald, J Glynn; D McHugh, L Silke, S Mulkerrin; P Conroy, S Kelly; M Tierney, J Maher, C McDaid; R Finnerty, D Comer, S Walsh Verdict: Donegal
